Celebrating 25 Years of POP Montreal
2026 marks an important milestone for POP Montreal as the festival celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Over the past quarter-century, POP Montreal has built its identity around independent music and artistic discovery, bringing together legendary performers, emerging talent and experimental projects.
The 2026 edition continues that tradition while also looking back at some of the people and places that have shaped Montreal’s independent cultural scene.

Among the many artists and special events featured this year are Luna, A Winged Victory for the Sullen, Infinity Song, Uffie, Les Hay Babies, Chad VanGaalen, Sister Nancy, Julie Doiron, Towa Bird, Plants and Animals and many more.
Nardwuar the Human Serviette is also part of the anniversary edition with a special Video Vault presentation, Q&A and DJs.
The Divan Orange Comes Back to Life
One of the most symbolic events of the 25th anniversary edition is the temporary return of the Divan Orange.
The legendary Saint-Laurent Boulevard venue comes back to life for three special POP Montreal nights, including two featuring Plants and Animals.
It’s a fitting addition to an anniversary edition that celebrates both the future of Montreal’s independent scene and the cultural history that helped shape it.
POP Montreal Starts Today
The festival officially gets underway on Wednesday, September 23.
Among the events taking place on opening day are Luna with Hanako and sundayclub at Théâtre Rialto, Dune Rats at Bar Le Ritz PDB and several other concerts and activities across Montreal.
The festival continues every day through Sunday, September 27.
More Than a Music Festival
POP Montreal goes far beyond live concerts.
