As far as I recall, the problem dates back 50 years to a military dictator named Gaddafi. He used the oil revenues to enslave his own people while setting up one of first terrorist training facilities.

Canada is facing multiple crisis and the person and party least fit to face them is Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative party. Conservatives had ten years in power and failed to deliver on affordability. Under Conservatives 800,000 affordable homes were lost – the price of housing went up 60%*.
Poilievre claims to care about workers and affordability – and yet voted against building affordable and low income housing 3 times – in 2014 when his party was in power – and again in 2018 & 2019 when in opposition. He also *voted against minimum wage increases twice*.
Poilievre has had taxpayer funded dental care for 19+ years and yet voted against dental care for children from low income families. Let that sink in!
Poilievre has been a rabid right wing ideologue since he was 14. The sum total of his real world experience outside the political realm before entering politics at age 25 – was doing corporate collections over the phone for Telus when he was a teenager – that's it!
When he was 20 yrs old Poilievre wrote – "Politics should not be a lifelong career. Therefore, I would institute a limit of two terms for members of Parliament." Poilievre is now in his seventh term in office. He's been a rabidly partisan conservative politician gorging at the public trough and serving the interests of elites for 19+ years and qualified for his full taxpayer funded lifetime pension at age 31.

Most Americans are too ignorant to know this truth. Libya was just starting to build a massive water control project when America invaded and killed the president there.
